Greetings all,

This is a notice from the Palmy North Scooter Club: advising of a long ride that they are doing on March 20 and 21st, 2010 - Magnetos SC are welcome to join - see the itinerary below.

The proposed itinerary is:-

Day 1: depart BP Connect Feilding @ 9am- SH54 to Cheltenham; to Mangaweka via Kimbolton & Rangiwahia; SH1 to Utiku then morning tea break at Mokai (Gravity Canyon) then on to Taihape - 120km. Head north on Spooners Hill Rd to join up with SH1 to Waiouru. Cross the Desert Rd to Turangi then on to Tokaanu for hot dip - 95km. From Tokaanu to National Park on SH47 then SH4 to accomodation at the Police Lodge at Raetihi (Hemi to confirm) - overall distance approximately 280km. A riotous night to then be had by all!

Day 2: Depart 9am down the River Rd to Wanganui at a leisurely pace - of this 100km leg, approximately 22km is metal but reasonably 'tidy'. Cafe lunch somewhere then up Drury Hill to the look-out tower. Continue on the Fordell Rd to Hunterville - 60km. From here to Palmy via Vinegar Hill - 80km - overall distance, roughly 240km.

Although the date is settled, the itinerary is open to 'modification' or any further suggestions, inclusions or deletions. You will need your toothbrush, sleeping bag & a food supply for perhaps a 'pot-luck' barbeque Saturday night.

For accomodation purposes Saturday night, please confirm if you're able to join us - should be a lot of fun & hopefully the weather will treat us well.

Jess, Lance & Ron - hopefully some of you folk will be able to join us - if so advise us & we'll organize billets for the Friday night.
