Advanced Rider Training
The Auckland Motorcycle Club Advanced Rider Training course (value $150) that I won through the Auckland Council promo is up for grabs!
I haven't got the gear (proper pants etc), or the inclination (remove top box, tape up glass etc.) or the insurance to do it, so the first positive reply to this posting will be the winner.
I think the next course day is March 6th.
Winner to email me at asialink-toto@xtra.co.nz for transfer of paperwork.

It's yours Ritchie
The email address is correct. It's not a website. Maybe just type the address into your outlook express (or whatever you use) and send me an email. I will reply with details and cc to Colleen of Auckland Motorcycle Club. That'll get the wheels in motion. Do you still have a motorbike? With respect, I think that'd be more suitable than your Yammie girlfriend.

Ritchie March 6?
Ritchie I am hoping to use my free voucher on March 6.
I've read the entry form and all i need, that i don't have, is a back protector - i'll try to find one in the meantime.
Maybe i'll see you there.

Have you registered yet Rob?
Have you registered yet Rob? Better do so quick and choose your group (1,2, or 3) as I've heard that the places are filling quick. Colleen reccomends group 1 for scooters, as it is mostly a motorbikebike thing, you don't want to be up against 1000cc sports bikes etc. Great if you and Ritchie can get in the same group on March 6th.
Hmm
is 1000ccs faster than a 200cc at 100kph?
I know that a push bike is faster than my 50cc, but then he was holding onto the back of a truck!

geting there hobie
i've bought a back protector for $30 on trade me, extended my insurance and am filling in the form now.
i'm hoping i can catch up with ritchie on the day though i doubt he will nominate one of the novice categories which i will put myself in. i thought 'novice fast' sounded like me as 90% of my riding is open road and as jwc says 100kph is 100kph. thanks for the tip though, i'll try to get hold of colleen first

Good idea to give Colleen a
Good idea to give Colleen a call. She's really helpful and seems to know what's suitable re the different classes inside out. To the best of my knowledge this is not limited to 100kph. It appears to me that advanced "racing" type skills are being taught on the Pukekohe track. A cousin of mine (Stephen Briggs) is one of the tutors I believe. He's a KTM sponsored racer.
hehe
It will be interesting to see how they react when I turn up on a moped
No worries, we scooterists
No worries, we scooterists are thick skinned aren't we. We have to be!
rhino hide
Yes, I had good training in that -- I used to drive a Lada
You didn't!
Now that takes the cake! Did you vote Social Credit? No that was Skoda wasn't it?
I drove a lada
samara - great car. We'll both be in group 1 Ritchie if you're on a scoot, see you there.

Two ex Lada drivers on scooters at the Pukekohe race track.
no leathers
Our skins must be so thick that we won't need leathers
Ritchie, Ritchie, Ritchie
a lada driver aye.
A mate of mine had a Niva (Russian Range Rover) brilliant for going along muriwai beach......
I didn't realise the advanced course was a track day.......in that case I take back my comment about a hundie being a hundie no matter what cc...LoL

concerned about scooters'
concerned about scooters' top speed on the straight apparently.
It feels like a gauntlet but my scoot is getting slower at the mo so won't be picking that up

Did anyone drive a Trecker?
Did anyone drive a Trecker? Great kiwi "SUV". The wheels used to fall off but hey, no worries!
Why's your scoot getting slower Rob?
Trekka
Trekka, was built on a Skoda Octavia chassis, with two wheel drive (rear), four speeds, and swing axles like the earlier WV beetles. Dreadful. I think SUV is a bit over the top, maybe just UV.
don't know
exhaust leak (I've fixed that)
Worn rollers (done about 12000)
I'm hoping goetz can help work it out next week.

Extra
padding from the Christmas/ New Year season hasn't add to your beasts burden?

funny you should ask
i was wondering if the 5+kg i've put on would have that much effect.
Only one way to find out i guess lose it k no wait there's another way: find 5kg of surplus bits on the scoot.
